Industrial Designer

Job Description

Tasks and Responsibilities :

• Design and develop products with a focus on consumer plastic goods
• Create detailed 3D models, simulations, and technical drawings using SolidWorks
• Apply design-for-manufacturing principles, particularly for plastic injection moulding (draft angles, wall thickness, undercuts, ribbing, finishes, etc.)
• Select appropriate materials for plastic products based on performance and application requirements
• Produce accurate technical drawings and assembly documentation with full GD&T standards
• Communicate design intent through sketching, storyboarding and visual presentations
• Integrate electronics into product designs (e.g., LED lighting, cable routing, battery systems)
• Utilize rapid prototyping methods such as 3D printing, foam modelling, or cardboard modelling
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to refine design requirements and incorporate feedback

Requirements :

• Proven at least 3 years of working experience as an Industrial Designer or in a similar role within retail industry
• Excellent written and verbal communication in English
• Proven experience in product design, preferably with consumer plastic goods
• In-depth knowledge of plastic manufacturing processes and design-for-injection moulding
• Advanced proficiency in SolidWorks for 3D Modelling, simulations to validate design integrity and performance and technical drawing creation
• Strong understanding of GD&T, material selection and production documentation
• Creative mindset with strong attention to detail in both aesthetics and functionality
• Experience with rapid prototyping techniques
