Job Description

Tasks and Responsibilities :

• Executing a variety of pastry items, including petits gâteaux, homemade pastries, and special amenities, while adhering to the highest standards of hygiene and quality.
• Responsibility is to support the Chef de Cuisine Pastry and Bakery in preparing and serving pastry items efficiently, learning both traditional techniques and modern pastry artistry.
• Collaboration with the pastry team and other culinary members is essential to enhance the overall dining experience.
• Assist in the preparation of a wide range of pastries, including petits gâteaux, tarts, mousses, and other dessert items, utilizing scratch cooking techniques.
• Help create a dining experience that exceeds guest expectations by supporting the delivery of high- quality, beautifully presented pastries and desserts.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization in the pastry station, adhering to health and safety standards at
all times.

Other Duties and Responsibilities :

• Uphold strict standards of food safety and hygiene, conducting regular checks on ingredients and prepared dishes to ensure compliance with health regulations.
• Assist in monitoring inventory levels of pastry ingredients and communicate needs for restocking to the Chef de Partie.
• Contribute to the presentation of pastries, ensuring they reflect the artistry of pastry work.

Requirements :

• Minimum of 1-2 years of pastry experience in a professional kitchen is preferred, with exposure to luxury hospitality or yacht/cruise line operations being advantageous.
• Strong communication skills and proficiency in English are essential.
• Familiarity with food and beverage operational systems is a must.
• Michelin Star restaurant or hotel experience is considered ideal.

Preferred :

• Fluency in additional language(s)
• Cruise Ship Experience.

Required computer skills :

• Proficient in MS Office (PowerPoint, Word, Excel and Outlook).
• Possess sufficient computer knowledge to use the company software.
