Job Description
Tasks and Responsibilities :
• Assist in the preparation and presentation of various sushi and sashimi dishes, including nigiri, maki, and temaki, following established recipes and techniques.
• Learn and demonstrate proper seafood selection, rice preparation, and the use of specialized sushi tools under the guidance of the Chef de Cuisine Sushi.
• Follow the direction of the Chef de Cuisine Sushi to ensure consistency and quality in all dishes served.
• Participate in creating visually appealing presentations that reflect the artistry of sushi making.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the sushi station, adhering to health and safety standards at all times.
• Assist with the daily setup and breakdown of the sushi area, ensuring all equipment is sanitized and properly maintained.
Other Duties and Responsibilities :
• Work closely with the Chef de Cuisine Sushi and the kitchen team to facilitate smooth communication and coordination.
• Support the training of junior kitchen staff on sushi preparation techniques and food handling practices as required.
Requirements :
• Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in sushi preparation or related roles in a professional kitchen environment.
• Strong communication skills and proficiency in English are essential.
• Familiarity with food and beverage operational systems is a must.
Preferred :
• Fluency in additional language(s)
• Cruise Ship Experience.
Required computer skills :
• Proficient in MS Office (PowerPoint, Word, Excel and Outlook).
• Possess sufficient computer knowledge to use the company software.
