Laundry Man – Marella Cruise – Jakarta

Job Description

Task and Responsibilities :

• Report to the Laundry Master and notify him of any problems regarding linen handling, damaged linen, or malfunctioning of equipment / machinery.
• Ensure proper procedures are followed to avoid any damage to ship or company property.
• Operate linen feeder, sheet folder, towel folder and table linen ironer machines.
• Operate washers and dryers according to recommended capacity manufacturers’ guidelines.
• Load and unload laundry from various machines.
• Set the proper drying and cooling times for different types of linen.
• Maintain an accurate log all the incoming and outgoing linen and ensure that linen is delivered to the correct departments.
• Administer cleaning agents to laundry according to product specifications.
• Clean and maintain machines and surrounding areas.
• Ensure Personal Protective Equipment is used and proper procedures and instructions are followed at all times.
• Ensure personal appearance, hygiene, and uniform are in accordance with company rules and regulations.
• Comply with time and attendance rules, and is available to work on a regular basis

Requirements :

• Fluent in written and spoken English,
• Must be able to communicate effectively with the senior management.
• Ability to lead and make decisions.
• Good administrative skills.
• Experienced in coaching subordinates.
• Must be cost and quality conscious.
• Must adhere to specific scheduled work hours, yet be flexible if circumstances require it.
• Work with international team members.
• Perform assigned duties under pressure (time constraints)
• Fluency in additional language(s) Preferred
