Utility Cleaner (Galley Steward) – Regent Seven Seas Cruise – Jakarta
Job Description
Tasks and Responsibilities :
• Responsible for the overall cleanliness of all galley areas (including storage lockers, galleys, dishwash and potwash areas, and BOH areas assigned to the F&B department).
• Responsible for the overall cleanliness and maintenance of equipment in the assigned area (including food preparation and storage equipment, extraction hood systems, ware washing equipment and any other equipment used by the F&B department).
• Responsible of the cleanliness, upkeep and proper storage of all cleaning tools and chemical products in the assigned area.
• Working in compliance with all applicable external and internal standards (including, but not limited to VSP, SHIPSAN, CSIP, ANVISA, AQIS, and all relevant internal policies and procedures, as outlined in the SMS and all applicable manuals.
• Follows instructions and guidelines related to breakage and loss prevention and reports all breakage to a supervisor. Where needed, maintains the Breakage logs.
• Inspects all assigned equipment and reports any malfunctions or damages to supervisor.
• Works with care and safety in mind, at all times following the safety precautions related to Chemical products handling, mixing and storage, PPE usage, Slip and fall prevention, Fire prevention etc.
• Follow garbage segregation instructions according to company policy.
• Report for duty at assigned times, following assigned schedules.
• Any additional duties assigned by Supervisor or Head of Department
• Ensures that personal appearance, uniform and personal hygiene are in accordance with company rules and regulations.
Requirements :
• Elementary and middle school (8th grade) education or higher.
• Fluent in written and spoken English.
• Communicate effectively with the senior management.
• Possess ability to lead and make decisions.
• Good administrative skills.
• Experienced in coaching subordinates.
• Must be cost and quality conscious.
• Adhere to specific scheduled work hours, yet be flexible if circumstances require it.
• Work with international team members.
• Perform assigned duties under pressure (time constraints).
Preferred :
• Experience and/or training in the hospitality field.
• Fluency in additional language(s)
• Cruise Ship Experience.
