Materials Project Manager
Job Description
An Eco-friendly Fashion Company in Canggu, Bali is looking for a talented and enthusiastic Materials Project Manager (Full-time, Hybrid)
Tasks and Responsibilities :
• Develop and execute detailed project plans for new material launches including timelines, Gantt charts, resource allocation, budget controls and milestone tracking
• Ensure all projects are delivered on time, within scope and within budget
• Work with teams across R&D, marketing, production, impact and engineering to develop innovative materials aligned with Company’s sustainability goals and market needs with a specific focus on eyewear materials
• Foster strong collaboration among departments to ensure a smooth material development process
• Oversee the development of sustainable materials as well as ensuring they meet technical, aesthetic and environmental standards for performance and durability
• Lead innovation efforts to develop materials that align with circular economy principles and customer demands
• Source suppliers for material ingredients and equipment in collaboration with the Supply Chain Manager
• Coordinate with eyewear manufacturers and oversee the product development process until materials are ready for production
• Manage project budgets and resources effectively as well as ensuring financial targets are met
• Track spending and forecast future resource needs as well as maintaining control over project finances
• Collaborate with the quality assurance team to implement rigorous testing protocols and ensure all materials comply with industry benchmarks for quality and performance
• Ensure products meet technical, regulatory and environmental standards
• Integrate circular economy principles such as closed-loop supply chains, lifecycle analysis and regenerative material innovations into project planning
• Support the Company’s mission by ensuring that all materials are designed with sustainability in mind
• Proactively identify and manage potential project risks including supply chain disruptions, technical challenges and timeline delays
• Develop and implement contingency plans to address any roadblocks that may arise during the project lifecycle
• Drive the market launch of new materials by coordinating efforts with marketing, sales and distribution teams to ensure a smooth and strategic rollout
• Monitor the performance of new materials in the market and adjust strategies as needed to meet the Company’s objectives
Requirements :
• Indonesian citizen
• Excellent in written and spoken English communication
• Proven at least 3+ years of working experience in Project Management ideally in materials development within the eyewear, fashion or plastics industry
• Proven track record of managing complex, cross-functional projects from inception to completion
• PM training and certification is strongly preferred
• Strong understanding of sustainable material science including polymers and recycled materials
• Experience working with supply chains, manufacturers and external partners particularly in Asia
• Advanced proficiency in project management software especially ClickUp
• Excellent communication and leadership skills with a proven ability to coordinate diverse teams
• Strong problem-solving abilities with experience in managing risk and contingency planning
• Passion for sustainability and the circular economy
• Ability to travel occasionally to attend trade shows, client meetings and company events
