Assistant Cook – Virgin Voyages – Yogyakarta
Job Description
Tasks and Responsibilities :
• Provide the most epic dining experience for our guests at all times
• Produce and prepare all basic menu food items
• Able to work within any section of the outlet and identify flavor/seasoning balances and correct and discrepancies
• Follow the menus, recipes, guidelines and methods provided
• Report any machinery/technical faults to Chef De Cuisine
• Ensure that they are working to company, HACCP, and USPH guidelines
• Maintain cleanliness and condition of assigned station and service areas
• Carry out clear down routines after service and ensure the appearance and condition of all items meet Virgin Voyages standards
• Notify Chef De Cuisine of any guest complaints raised and seek to resolve
• Be familiar with all cruise service/features and activations to respond to guest inquiries accurately
Requirements :
• Minimum 2 year’s experiences as Assistant / Junior Cook onboard a cruise ship or 4 / 5* hotel/resort
• Possess advanced knife handling skills
• Basic knowledge of food handling procedures with regard to public health standards
• Basic understanding of food specifications
• Knowledge of Vessels Sanitation Program regulations and procedures
• All certificates required by the STWC
• Strong written & verbal skills
